Netflix Reveals 33 Korean Titles for 2026… Including Blackpink’s Jisoo Rom-Com and Lee Chang-dong’s First Film in 8 Years

Netflix just dropped a massive slate of Korean content coming in 2026, and fans worldwide are already marking their calendars.

The streaming giant unveiled 33 new films and series titles from Seoul on Wednesday, reinforcing what the data already shows: K-content dominates the global streaming landscape.

“Over the past five years, more than 210 Korean titles have been ranked in the global top 10,” notes Don Kang, Netflix’s Korean content lead.

From Blackpink’s Jisoo making her acting debut to legendary director Lee Chang-dong returning after eight years, 2026 promises to be another record-breaking year for Korean storytelling.

Blackpink Meets Rom-Com: Jisoo’s Streaming Debut

Boyfriend on Demand might be the most anticipated romantic comedy of 2026, and for good reason.

Jisoo from Blackpink takes on her first major streaming role as Seo Mi-rae, an exhausted webtoon producer who subscribes to a virtual dating simulation service. Opposite her is rom-com veteran Seo In-guk, playing her workplace rival.

Director Kim Jung-sik, who delivered hits like No Gain No Love and Work Later, Drink Now, promises what he calls “nothing short of a dating revolution.”

The series explores modern romance through a sci-fi lens, tapping into fantasies about perfect relationships while Mi-rae navigates her demanding career.

Superhero Chaos in 1999: The WONDERfools

Set against millennium anxiety and Y2K panic, The WONDERfools follows awkward townspeople who suddenly gain superpowers.

Park Eun-bin from Extraordinary Attorney Woo stars as Eun Chae-ni, thrust into chaos when mysterious incidents grant her abilities she never asked for. Cha Eun-woo plays Lee Woon-jung, a civic servant investigating strange disappearances with growing suspicion.

Director Yoo In-sik teams up with debuting writer Huh Dah-joong, who adapted the blockbuster film Extreme Job, creating what promises to be a comedy-action hybrid dripping with turn-of-the-century nostalgia.

Expect clumsy heroics, bumbling villains, and plenty of ’90s throwback aesthetics.

Historical Drama Gets Dark: Curses and Forbidden Love

The East Palace plunges viewers into supernatural horror rooted in Korean occultism.

Nam Joo-hyuk stars as Gu-cheon, who can traverse between worlds and slay ghosts with his blade. Roh Yoon-seo plays Saeng-gang, a court lady born with the rare ability to hear ghostly voices. Together they investigate bizarre royal incidents while uncovering secrets buried deep within palace walls.

Cho Seung-woo rounds out the cast as the King, secretly overseeing their dangerous mission.

Writers Kwon So-ra and Seo Jea-won bring their expertise in Korean supernatural storytelling from Bulgasal: Immortal Souls and The Guest.
